About Sarah!

Hey guys! Its Sarah! I suppose its my turn to bore while I talk about myself! Well, I don't think that I am that boring, we'll see!

OH, though my goal was to help you guys get to know me a little better, I thought it would be a good idea to let you know a little about Stacey and I while we were growing up!, There really isn't much to know, we never really liked each other, In fact!!!! Our parents and grandparents where always afraid to leave us home alone together when we were old enough because they where afraid one of us wouldn't come out alive! Really, we did not like each other at all, I think it was because of our age differences. I am 4 years older then Stacey and I was always one step ahead of her, when I was in my early years, I would say 8-12, I was the "kid" and she was the "baby", then once I hit around 13 or 14 years old, I was the "Teenager" (oh and we all know how awful teenagers can be) and Stacey was the "kid", teenagers don't like kids much, OK, FINE, teenagers don't like anyone usually! ah! and THEN I was the adult and Stacey was the teenager! (If you could only see the faces I just made).

It wasn't until we were both adults that we got along! and now we are best friends, doing what we love!, Making jewelry, and trying to keep up with Etsy "stuff" has become somewhat a full time hobby for the both of us (well maybe more so for me!), and were only a month in! I am excited to see what is to come!

Ok, so ME, lets see, I am 23 years old and I have a boyfriend who secretly loves picking out beads with me! I am an aspiring raw foodist (Fruit bowl please!) with a new found love for yoga. I love anything that relaxes me because I am always so busy. I work full time as a nanny and I am a full time student on my way to finishing my B.A in Communications in a few months! I am not sure what I want to do, I am not looking to be some sort of executive, I really like being a nanny, we'll see. I Love music of all kinds, and go to many concerts. I will also admit to playing a good amount of video games! (Very well rounded girl hehe). I have a love for organizing, everything around me is organized, every last bead has its own spot. Other then that I am quite simple, I can learn to love anything, and I like to make the best out of any situation.

Next is Stacey's turn to blog in our little Bio series!

With Love,

Sarah

The best part about buying something homemade....

Is knowing a little about who made what you bought! When you walk into a store, and see something that you like, you rarely think past the fact that the item is pretty, neat, cool, well thought out... etc. Do you ever think about where the item you are purchasing came from? I am not talking about which country it came from, did someone actually make it? did a machine make it? was any care, love and thought put into the item at all? Ever since I started making my own jewelry, I am far more proud to wear something I or my sister made then something I bought at a store because I know the time that was put into it. Then I thought, is this just because I or someone I love made it? and the answer is no. When you buy or receive something that is homemade you have a better time picturing the time that someone took to actually make it. I am sure there are many things that we buy in stores that people actually physically make, but we never ever get to know for sure. The appreciation and value of something homemade is far greater then that of something at perhaps a higher monetary value bought in a store.

So Stacey and I decided that we are going to do our best to let our customers know about us!, We will be posting Bio's and frequent updates on our lives in this blog! We feel it is extremely important for our viewers, and customers to know more about us then just the fact that we enjoy making jewelry! I (Sarah) Will begin by posting my Bio tomorrow!

There is nothing like something hommade!

No I am not talking about food! I am talking about handcrafted art!

Let me give you a little background! Creativity By Ann Rose has 2 people behind it, My sister Stacey and I (I'm Sarah :) ) Stacey will be blogging frequently as well! We are two very busy people, that Ironically had the same idea at the same time! We are both in college, and Stacey travels often, it just so happened that one day we were talking we both expressed an interest in making jewelery! In fact, in the same time period we both went out and bought supplies for jewelry making and did not even know it! Soon after, Stacey suggested that we sell our work!, So here we are about 3 months later, all geared up and ready to go with an Etsy.com Account to sell our stuff! EXCITING! we are both working very hard to get some sales, we are eager to figure out what we are doing wrong, what we are doing right, and what could use a little improvement! the beginning is going to be a huge learning process!

Some of the very best gifts to receive are ones that are homemade, remember when you are little and every time you make something for someone they go on and on about how wonderful it is that you gave them something homemade and how they would rather something homemade then bought? Come on, everyone has gotten that speech, I mean, I once gave my mom a picture of Minnie Mouse, she was TRULY thrilled about it, I could see it in her face, even though she didn't realize it was Minnie Mouse due to my adolescent drawing skills and had it hung on the wall upside-down for years! The point is, when you gift something homemade, even if it is something that you bought that is homemade, both you, and the receiver, will appreciate the gift much more because you can actually picture a person doing the work, rather then a machine.

As of right now we have posted some lovely jewelery, and as of right now all the credit goes to Stacey, it is all her work! Mine is soon to come!

Other things to look forward too:
Picture Frames
Cell phone Charms
Candle holders
Crochet goods
We are also going to work on a line of personalized crafts! You will be able to message us what you want and we will do out best to fill your order :)

Please Check out our store Creativity By Ann Rose
